“Artist Study Hall is something that I created because I constantly found myself wasting precious time in the studio. I would get there, be all excited to create, but then the time would pass and I wouldn’t get much done. I found that other things always seemed to distract me. Or, I would chip away at my studio time as other pressing life situations came up throughout the week and felt more important.
I realized that one of the problems was that I didn’t take studio time seriously. I thought I did! But then I wondered…hmmm, I rarely cancel a zoom call, or a dentist appointment, or even a workout. Why is my studio time put on the back burner? I am an ARTIST. My actual job is to create.
Somehow I often felt weird or ashamed (!) because telling my family or friends that I HAVE to paint pictures today doesn’t feel like “work.” But it IS! This is our work. This is our passion. We need to unapologetically fling open the doors to our studio and create! The world needs our art more than ever. You can go to the grocery store another time. Plan out your month with us and let’s GET IT DONE! “

Here’s what you get with your Artist Study Hall membership:

This is the heart and soul of ASH! We will meet on zoom at least 6 times per month (plus one bonus session for art critiques), for two hours at all different days/times of the week. This time will be for CREATING! We will start with a 5 minute meditation and then we are off! There will be an optional short break at the 1 hour mark to refresh our minds and bodies and then we continue to create for the additional hour.

Instead of finding anything to do BUT create, like procrastinating or working on things that aren't really important to your business, Artist Study Hall lets you block out two hour sessions where you know (and can see on zoom calls!) that other artists are working at the same time! We will set an intention at the beginning of the sessions to help keep you on track and accountable. The schedule will be released one week before the 1st of each month so you can block out the times quickly and lock them in before your calendar fills up.

It is a powerful thing when artists come together and create at the same time! There will be a community space where you can also get feedback and support from other artists.

What would 12 uninterrupted hours in the studio per month help you accomplish? Could you work out that painting that’s been bugging you for weeks? Finally write the outline for your book? Dig into that research for your next big project and take it to the next level? Write your proposal?

At the end of each month, we will meet and have 1-2 sessions focused solely on presenting any work you’d like to share and get feedback from other artists! If you miss having another set of eyes on your work, you’ll love these sessions

This will help you have the studio tidy, get your materials in order, have a specific piece to work on, and get rid of the overwhelm so you can focus. There will also be a new prompt sent out before each session for anyone who needs ideas.
